Compared to the last special two weeks ago, steer calves under 500 lbs were lightly tested, with 500-600 lbs trading 10.00-20.00 higher, 600- 750 lbs sold 5.00-10.00 higher, spots 12.00 higher and over 750 lb on a light offering sold with a higher undertone. Feeder heifers under 500 lbs sold with a higher undertone on limited test, with 500-750 lbs selling 5.00-10.00 higher, Slaughter steers and heifers on a good comparison from last week sold 3.00-4.00 higher with slaughter cows selling fully steady to firm. Demand was very good on a moderate offering with overall quality very attractive on the steer and heifer calves weighing 450-750 lbs all selling on a very active market with several stick out sales of 5 weight fancy heifers. Cattle on Feed Report was released Friday afternoon with On Feed at 96 percent, Placements at 96 percent and Marketings at 104 percent pretty much in line with estimates. Supply included: 82% Feeder Cattle (53% Steers, 47% Heifers); 18% Slaughter Cattle (28% Steers, 17% Heifers, 47% Cows, 8% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 67%.

Slaughter cows sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher and bulls 1.00 higher; Demand good and supply moderate. Supply included: 89% Feeder Cattle (49% Steers, 43% Heifers, 7% Bulls); 10% Slaughter Cattle (91% Cows, 9% Bulls); 0% Replacement Cattle (100% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 46%.

Supply included: 90% Feeder Cattle (39% Steers, 51% Heifers, 10% Bulls); 8% Slaughter Cattle (80% Cows, 20% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (65% Bred Cows, 25% Bred Heifers, 10% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 37%.
