The LSU AgCenter will hold its annual wheat, oat and cover crop field day April 20 at the Tom H. Scott Research, Extension and Education Center in Winnsboro.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon, and lunch will be provided. The Scott Center is located at 212A Macon Ridge Road in Winnsboro.

The field day will cover multiple topics, including:

• Crop updates.

• Scab nursery and fungicide trials.

• Variety development.

• Unmanned aerial vehicles in research.

• Freeze damage.

Sponsors include AGSouth Genetics, Delta Grow, Louisiana Land Bank, Progeny and Stratton Seed Co.

AgCenter plant pathologist Boyd Padgett said the field day promises to be timely and informative.

“This is a great opportunity for producers, consultants, industry and other researchers to get up-to-date information on variety performance, disease resistance and other topics,” he said.
