Eastern MO. Commission Company's annual Thanksgiving weekend Special Bred Cow and Heifer Sale, with the main attraction on the bred heifers was held Saturday November 26, 2022. A very good offering with several large consignments of near 400 head of top quality mostly Black bred heifers mostly in the 3rd stage, few in the 2nd stage with several consignments of top quality young cow/calf pairs sold with active bidding from a large standing room only crowd of buyers. Several consignments of bred cows4-6 yrs of age mostly in the 2nd-3rd stage sold with good demand. Overall quality was very good from start to finish on the heifers. Demand was good to very good with a moderate to heavy supply of bred heifers and pairs. A large offering of slaughter cows were also included in the auction. Supply included: 100% Replacement Cattle (8% Bred Cows, 72% Bred Heifers, 14% Cow-Calf Pairs, 6% Heifer Pairs).
REPLACEMENT CATTLE: BRED COWS - Medium and Large 1: 1219 $2100-2500; 1301 $2300-2775. Medium and Large 1-2: 1273 $1750; 1483 $1850-2000; 1475 $1350.
BRED HEIFERS: Medium and Large 1: 1113 $2225-2575; 1190 $2400-3350; 1244 $3450-3700; 1198 $2500-2810.

Compared to two weeks ago, steers and heifers sold uneven, from1.00 lower to 5.00 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady; Demand uneven and supply moderate. Supply included: 76% Feeder Cattle (39% Steers, 47% Heifers, 14% Bulls); 23% Slaughter Cattle (92% Cows, 8% Bulls); 1% Replacement Cattle (100% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 26%.

Feeder steers & heifers 10.00-15.00 lower on medium-large 1-2 (Market quotes are on mostly unvaccinated cattle) and 20.00 lower on medium-short 2-3. Slaughter cows traded unevenly steady on better cows and 1.00 higher on slower cows. Slaughter bulls traded steady.
