Compared to the last special two weeks ago, steer calves under 700 lbs and heifer calves under 600 lbs sold mostly 5.00-12.00 lower, with steers over 700 lbs not well tested and heifers weighing 600-800 lbs trading steady to firm. Overall demand was good on a moderate offering the overall quality did not run as deep as the last special but the market held up very well, despite market volatility this week as markets have whipsawed back and forth due to trade and tariff issues. Slaughter steers and heifers sold mostly 5.00 lower with slaughter cows trading firm to 3.00 higher. Supply included: 82% Feeder Cattle (46% Steers, 48% Heifers, 6% Bulls); 18% Slaughter Cattle (20% Steers, 6% Heifers, 63% Cows, 11% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 39%.

Slaughter steers and heifers traded steady on high choice and steady on low choice and selects. Holstein steers traded 3.00 higher on high choice and steady on low choice and selects. Feeder steers & heifers were very strong on the better quality on medium-large 1-2 (Market quotes are on mostly unvaccinated cattle)and higher on lower quality offering medium-short 2-3. Slaughter cows traded 1.00-2.00 higher on better overnight cows with good lean cows trading 4.00 higher and 2.00 higher on slower cows. Slaughter bulls traded 2.00 higher.
