Compared to two weeks ago, the best test was on steer calves weighing 550-700 lbs with 550-600 lb steer calves selling steady to firm and 600-700 lb trading steady to spots 5.00 higher. Heifer calves were lightly tested with 500-550 lb selling steady to firm. Demand was moderate to good on a light supply. Slaughter steers and heifers sold steady with slaughter cows trading fully steady to spots 3.00 higher. Supply included: 78% Feeder Cattle (63% Steers, 32% Heifers, 4% Bulls); 22% Slaughter Cattle (12% Steers, 28% Heifers, 56% Cows, 3% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 39%.

Compared to last week: Feeder cattle and calves mostly steady. Un-weaned calves 5.00-10.00 lower. Demand moderate to good. Limited demand for those short weaned or un-weaned calves. Summer's heat is upon us and definitely limiting demand for those calves. Weather has dried up enough to get farmers in the field harvesting wheat but chances of rain are back in the forecast for later in the week. Quality mostly average. Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (48% Steers, 48% Heifers, 4% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 61%.
