Horizon Ag To Host Arkansas Field Day August 12
MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE
It’s an important time in the season for rice production in the South, making the Horizon Ag Arkansas Field Day the perfect opportunity to get a firsthand look at how standout varieties like CLL19 and CLL18 are performing. Attendees will also hear about promising new lines, including PVL05 and PVL06, which are on track for a limited release in 2026.
The event will also spotlight what’s ahead for Clearfield® and Provisia® systems – like CLM05, a new medium grain variety from the University of Arkansas breeding program – along with other key updates relevant to Southern rice growers.
The field day is set for August 12 at the Northeast Rice Research and Extension Center in Harrisburg, with registration beginning at 4:30 p.m. There will be presentations by Horizon Ag and experienced rice farmers, along with Dr. Justin Chlapecka from the University of Arkansas. There also will be opportunities to view Horizon Ag varieties in the field and a great dinner with friends in the industry.
“We’re seeing real momentum in the field – not just with how our varieties are performing, but in the trust growers are placing in Horizon Ag,” says Dr. Tim Walker, CEO. “Seed demand was intense again this season, and we were proud to step up to meet growers’ needs. There’s a strong presence of our varieties across many fields, and the performance so far speaks for itself – these varieties are showing great promise.”
