Missouri Rice Field Day Set for August 14

KATY, TEXAS

The Missouri Rice Research and Merchandising Council will host its annual Rice Field Day on Thursday, August 14 at the Missouri Rice Research Farm near Glennonville. 

 Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and tours begin at 9:00 a.m. Research personnel and experts will be on hand to provide area farmers a chance to see and learn about recent developments in rice research. Morning tour topics will include weed and insect management in Missouri rice, the latest research on Missouri soybeans, and rice variety research with representatives from HorizonAg, Nutrien, RiceTec, and University of Arkansas.

 The Field Day will conclude with an 11:30 a.m. luncheon catered by Tasteful Creations. The lunch program will include updates from Missouri Rice Council and US Rice Producers Association, a state political outlook, and a presentation on Southeast Missouri’s Groundwater Resources from Scott Kaden of the Missouri Geological Survey Water Resources Center.
