Compared to the last special two weeks ago, steer calves weighing under 550 lbs sold with a firm to higher undertone on a light offering from two weeks ago, 550-600 lbs sold firm to 6.00 higher, over 600 lbs traded steady to firm on comparable sales. Heifer calves weighing 450-600 lbs sold mostly 5.00-15.00 higher with 600-750 lbs trading steady on a light test, over 800- lbs pot loads and small groups all sold with a firm to higher undertone. Demand was good on a moderate offering. Stick out sales included a good quality offering of 66 hd of heifers weighing 887 lbs at 316.00 and 58 hd of heifers weighing 979 lbs at 302.25. Slaughter steers and heifers sold near steady on last weeks light offering with slaughter cows trading steady to firm. Supply included: 85% Feeder Cattle (56% Steers, 40% Heifers, 4% Bulls); 15% Slaughter Cattle (26% Steers, 6% Heifers, 61% Cows, 8% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 55%.

Compared to last week: Feeder steers steady to 5.00 higher than last week's lighter test of steers. Feeder heifers 2.00-6.00 higher. Steer calves 10.00-20.00 higher, spots sharply higher. Heifer calves 15.00-25.00 higher. Demand extremely good for all classes. Friday's Cattle on Feed report slightly friendly and among other things south of the border had cattle futures trending sharply higher Monday. Demand continues very good. Quality average to attractive with several thin fleshed cattle available. Wheat planting is well underway. Spotty rain showers and warm weather across the state has some of that wheat emerging. Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (62% Steers, 33% Heifers, 5% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 55%.
