Compared to last week, a very light offering of feeders were not well tested with the bulk of the supply unweaned bulls or unweaned heifers and selling in small packages and singles. Slaughter steers and heifers on a light test sold 3.00-5.00 lower with a nice offering of slaughter cows trading firm to 3.00 higher. Supply included: 54% Feeder Cattle (25% Steers, 33% Heifers, 43% Bulls); 46% Slaughter Cattle (9% Steers, 3% Heifers, 84% Cows, 5% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 28%.

Compared to last week: All classes lightly tested. Feeder steers and heifers 10.00-20.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves 20.00-30.00 lower, heifer calves to 40.00 lower. Demand light to moderate for feeder cattle and moderate for calves. Cattle futures closed down the limit, leaving buyers bewildered and very frustrated. Quality average to attractive and more weaned calves included. Rains moved across the state last night and the wheat pasture looks in pretty good shape. Some producers have already turned calves out on that wheat, while others have yet to plant. Note: There will be a Special Angus sale included in the regular sale next week. Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (49% Steers, 46% Heifers, 5% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 53%.
