Compared to the last auction two weeks ago, steer and heifer calves under 600 lbs on comparable sales sold mostly 10.00-15.00 higher with feeders over 600 lbs not well tested on limited offerings with the largest draft of the sale being 190 hd of heifers weighing 973-1077 lbs selling with a firm to higher undertone. Demand was good on a light to moderate offering with the stick out sale of the day being 100 hd of heifers weighing 973 lbs at 304.00 and 90 hd weighing 1077 lbs at 294.00. There were several consignments of unweaned steer and heifer calves all selling with good demand. Slaughter steers and heifers sold 5.00-6.00 higher and slaughter cows sold steady. Supply included: 81% Feeder Cattle (31% Steers, 63% Heifers, 7% Bulls); 19% Slaughter Cattle (6% Steers, 23% Heifers, 61% Cows, 9% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 48%.

Compared to the last sale two weeks ago: All classes lightly tested. Feeder steers 4.00-12.00 higher. Feeder heifers 3.00-8.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves mostly steady. Demand was very good with several buyers present, even with a light run. Quality average to attractive. Quite a bit of snow remains on the ground, but the big thaw is on. Temperatures are expected to run warmer than normal for the next 10 days or so. Quality average to attractive. Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (58% Steers, 41% Heifers, 1% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 64%.
