    Compared to last week, not enough feeders for adequate price test, undertone steady to weak, except for two pot-loads of 900-1000 lbs heifers about steady. Demand moderate to good. Supply light on a cow special, mostly small packages of 400-600 lbs calves, near 23 percent steers and bulls, 37 percent heifers, 40 percent cows and 17 percent mostly heifers over 600 lbs. Slaughter cows firm to $2 higher.

    Compared to last week, 250-600 lbs steers sold $5-8 higher, the rest of the offering sold steady to $4 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls sold $2 higher; Demand good and supply light. Cows made up approximately 14 percent of the run, 86 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 44 percent of the offering, 43 percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 28 percent.

    With farmers busy harvesting bumper crops of corn this year, light run of cattle. Small run but good quality preconditioned cattle today. Due to morning rain demand was high. Market was $1-12 higher. We are coming into the season of the year when we have warm days and cool nights and cattle get sick. This will be reflected in the market on these type cattle – bawling, unweaned, unvaccinated. Slaughter bulls and cows sold steady.
