Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 10.00-15.00 higher. Steer calves 10.00-20.00 higher. Heifer calves 5.00-15.00 higher. Demand is good. Quality average to attractive with several light-fleshed cattle included. Cattle futures closed higher today after a rocky ride last week. It is still clear that many things taking place outside and within the industry will cause fluctuations in the markets but one thing that has stayed constant is tight supplies of cattle. March winds blew strong on Sunday, bringing back numerous fires across the state. Temperatures also dropped, reminding us winter is not done yet. Summer like weather will be here later in the week and highs expected in the mid 90's. Rain is not in the forecast till the end of March. Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (59% Steers, 39% Heifers, 3% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 58%.
