Field Tour Highlights Division Research During Arkansas Rice Expo
STUTTGART, ARK.
Rice research demonstrations from the Rice Research and Extension Center, presented in field tours during the Arkansas Rice Expo, can be seen online.
The research tours were a highlight of the Arkansas Rice Expo hosted by the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture at the Grand Prairie Center in Stuttgart. Some 1,500 visitors attended the expo to learn about Division of Agriculture research and extension programs.
The field tour covered rice breeding, soil fertility, pest control and related topics. Rice breeders Xueyan Sha and Greg Berger reviewed Arkansas varieties and breeding lines and discussed the potential of the division’s hybrid program.

Other topics covered irrigation management and other cultural practices for soybeans.
