Dixon Springs Ag Center To Host Beef Field Day

Illinois Extension and the University of Illinois Department of Animal Sciences are pleased to announce the annual Beef Field Day at Dixon Springs Agricultural Center will be on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
Topics to be presented this year include Asian longhorned tick and Theileria management, least cost rations, an update on research at DSAC, an introduction to the I-Belief program participants, and using technology on a beef farm .
Presenters include:
· Dr. Sierra R. Guynn, DVM, PhD, DACVPM
· Dr. Josh McCann, Department of Animal Sciences, and the I-Belief Interns
· Dr. Dan Shike, Department of Animal Sciences
· Travis Meteer, Extension Beef Cattle Specialist
· Luke Boeckman and Ryan Vonder Haar, L & R Ag, Precision Ranching
The program will start promptly at 5:15 p.m. and will conclude with a prepared by the Shawnee Beef Association. Attendance at the Beef Field Day is free. Dinner is available for $5 per person, and advance registration is requested by Sunday, July 19, to assist with meal planning.
