Eastern Missouri Livestock Auction
JULY 24, 2026 • Bowling Green, Mo.
Receipts: 721; Last Week: 301; Year Ago: 602
Compared to the last auction two weeks ago, bulk of the receipts were pot loads and part loads of yearling steers and heifers weighing over 700 lbs and did not have a good comparison from two weeks ago but traded with a lower undertone. Steer and heifer calves sold in small packages and singles and were not well tested and also sold with a lower undertone. Demand was moderate to good on the yearlings as 109 hd of 982 lb heifers sold for 285.50; 58 hd of 872 lb steers sold at 340.00 and 55 hd of 789 lb steers sold for 358.00. The fed cattle market has been rocked on its heels for the month of July as fat cattle have lost 30.00 and are pressuring the feeder cattle market. Slaughter cows traded steady to firm with a light offering of slaughter steers and heifers trading 2.00-4.00 lower after last week's sharply lower market. Supply included: 83% Feeder Cattle (44% Steers, 46% Heifers, 10% Bulls); 17% Slaughter Cattle (8% Steers, 2% Heifers, 73% Cows, 14% Bulls, 2% Dairy Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 74%

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 15.00-25.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves 20.00-30.00 lower with spots up to 40.00 lower. Demand moderate.
