Dixon Springs Ag Center To Host Beef Field Day July 31

DIXON SPRINGS, ILL.
   The annual Beef Field Day at the University of Illinois Dixon Springs Agricultural Center will be on Thursday, July 31. The program will focus on beef cattle research conducted at Dixon Springs.
   A variety of topics will be presented this year.  Topics include: the effects of grazing novel endophyte-infected fescue versus endophyte-infected fescue on fetal development, pyrethroid and pyrethrin effects on beef cattle fertility, the developmental duplicity (DD) genetic defect, in situ digestibility of endophyte-infected fescue versus Jesup Max Q®, efficient use of corn stalks in cattle diets, an update on beef cattle efficiency and reproduction.
   The program will start at 5 p.m. and concludes with a complimentary dinner prepared by the Shawnee Beef Association. There is no charge to attend the Beef Field Day; however, for an accurate food count please pre-register.
