   Compared to last week, 400-500 lbs steers sold $4-9 higher, the rest of the offering sold $2-8 lower with lower than average quality. Slaughter cows sold $2 higher and bulls sold $4 higher. Demand uneven and supply light. Cows made up approximately 23 percent of the run, 77 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 39 percent of the offering, 47 percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 31 percent.

   How often do we get to say a “cold” front moved thru dropping temps to possibly record lows in July. The market today had a very good supply of good quality cattle. Market was steady on the heavier weights with light weights as much as $20 or more higher. Slaughter bulls and cows sold higher.

   Compared to last week, 500 lbs steers and the 600 lbs offering sold $20 higher, the rest of the offering sold steady to $13 higher. Slaughter cows sold $2 higher, bulls sold $2 lower. Demand good and supply light. Cows made up approximately 9 percent of the run, 91 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 37 percent of the offering, 38 percent heifers with 23 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 22 percent.
