Count Down To Conservation Systems Conferences
News flash; the 18th Annual National Conservation Systems Cotton & Rice Conference, Southern Corn & Soybean Conference and the Southern Precision Ag Conference is drawing near. The event will take place January 14-16, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza in Baton Rouge, LA. Trade show booth space is sold out. Rooms at the Crowne Plaza are sold out and the Holiday Inn rooms are very limited. Attendees can contact other hotels in the area to make reservations for the event. Here are three hotels within a quarter mile that you may contact for reservations:

Back to the numbers; currently there are 117 speakers scheduled, a couple more are expected. These speakers come from seven universities and all the Mid-South states as well as Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Nebraska, North Carolina, Virginia and Brazil.
The number breakdown consists of 67 researchers, 8 crop consultants, 35 producers and 6 VIP’s.

• Dr. Wayne Ebelhar, Research Professor and Agronomist, Mississippi State University one of 10 speakers on corn research
• Dr. Michael J. Buschermohle, Precision Agriculture Specialist, University of Tennessee one of 9 specialists presenting programs on precision ag

• J.D. Dulaney, Clarksdale, Mississippi is one of 11 growers scheduled to speak about their rice production practices

• Jeremy Jack, Belzoni, Mississippi one of 5 growers who will make presentations detailing their expertise in corn production
The Certified Crop Advisors Association has approved this conference for 72 hours of CEU’s. Participates can choose from eight nutrient management sessions, 13 soil and water management sessions, 23 integrated pest management sessions, 27 crop management sessions and one professional development session. Certified Crop Advisors can earn a maximum of 11 hours at this conference.
The conferences are a united effort of seven universities; University of Arkansas, Mississippi State University, University of Missouri, University of Tennessee, LSU AgCenter, Auburn University and Texas A&M. Technical Co-sponsors are USDA-ARS centers in Oxford, MS, Stoneville, MS and Auburn, AL.
