Iowa Farmer, Author Speaks At Women In Ag Conference March 13

MARSHALL, MO.
   Iowa farmer Jolene Brown will speak at the 12th annual Women in Agriculture conference, March 13 at the Martin Community Center in Marshall.
Brown is author of a how-to book on growing a family business, “Sometimes You Need More Than a 2x4!” In the morning session, she will share ways to increase productivity, profitability and peace of mind on the farm during the morning session. In the afternoon, Brown will provide tools for transitioning labor, management, leadership and ownership of the family farm.
   More than 500 people attended the 2014 conference, says Trish Savage, family financial education specialist for University of Missouri Extension. This year’s conference theme is “It’s a Jungle Out There.”
MU Extension, the Farm Service Agency and the Natural Resources Conservation Service sponsor the event.
