Arcadia Valley Home And Garden Tour Date Set

IRONTON, MO.
   The annual Arcadia Valley Home and Garden Tour will be held Saturday, June 20st, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This year the tour will feature fifteen locations in the Arcadia Valley and will showcase gardens, select homes with unique features, raised bed gardening, landscaping, historic sites, the Arcadia Valley Art Studio, the Arcadian Academy of Music, and plant and produce sales.  There will be an informational bee demonstration with an observation hive. The cost of the tour is $7.  
   Tickets will be sold at the rear of the Iron County Courthouse starting at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday the 20st. The Courthouse is located at 250 S. Main. This will be a self-guided tour with a brochure with map and location information. A host will be available at the sites to provide direction and answer questions.
   The Iron County Community Garden and the Iron County Extension Council are presenting the tour as a fund raiser for the gardens’ operations. The tour will promote tourism, and support local growers and businesses. The Iron County Community Garden has been in existence in Ironton since May 2010.  The raised beds garden is located next to the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 106 N. Knob Street.  Local community members have an opportunity to grow their own vegetables, flowers and herbs. Some of the beds are utilized to grow produce for the food bank. The Community Garden has three annual Educational programs. They include a “Grow a Reader” program with the Ozark Regional Library, a Seed Swap, and the Garden Tour.
