   Compared to last week, 300-500 lbs steers sold $7-9 higher, the rest of the offering sold uneven from $2 higher to $6 lower. Slaughter cows sold $3 higher and bulls sold steady. Demand uneven and supply light. Cows made up approximately 20 percent of the run, 80 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 47 percent of the offering, 43 percent heifers with 8 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 30 percent.

   Compared to last week, 300-400 lbs steers and 300 lbs heifers sold $10-21 lower, the rest of the offering sold uneven from $9 higher to $6 lower. Slaughter cows sold steady, bulls sold $4 lower; Demand uneven and supply light. Cows made up approximately 14 percent of the run, 86 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 38 percent of the offering, 42 percent heifers with 20 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 22 percent.

   Very high temperatures this week made it tough to move livestock showing in the market with lesser quality and not enough to test market. Where there was enough to test the market we are calling it $5-15 lower.

Eastern Missouri Livestock Auction

   Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers under 750 lbs and feeder heifers under 700 lbs traded steady to firm on comparable sales, there was spots on 600-700 lbs steers that sold $5 higher. Demand was very good on feeders despite feeder cattle futures trading with sharp losses over the last three sessions. Bulk of the sales were feeders weighing 500-750 lbs with several lots of top quality heifers in the offering along with several strings of good quality steers selling with good weighing conditions. Slaughter cows sold steady to $3 higher with the most advance on the high dressing cows. Slaughter cows accounted for 12 percent of the total receipts, with feeder supply consisting of 53 percent steers, 47 percent heifers and 61 percent of the feeders weighing over 600 lbs.
