   Compared to two weeks ago, steers and heifer calves weighing 450-600 lbs on comparable sales sold mostly $15-20 higher. Lightweight steer and heifer calves under 450 lbs sold with a sharply higher undertone. Steers and heifers over 600 lbs have no recent comparable sales but sold with a higher undertone. Slaughter cows traded fully steady to firm. Demand was very good for a nice offering of good quality steer and heifer calves weighing from 400-600 lbs; feeders over 600 lbs sold with good demand as well. Cattle futures and fed cattle prices have advanced with sharp gains over the last couple of weeks giving good support to the feeder cattle market. Supply included 66 percent steers, 34 percent heifers and near 50 percent weighing over 600 lbs.

   Compared to last week, 400-700 lbs steers sold steady to $6 higher, the rest of the offering sold $3-9 lower. Slaughter cows sold $2 higher and bulls sold steady; Demand uneven and supply moderate. Cows made up approximately 15 percent of the run, 85 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 53 percent of the offering, 39 percent heifers with 9 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 27 percent.

   Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold $7-19 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls sold $1 lower; Demand good and supply light. Slaughter cows made up approximately 15 percent of the run, 85 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 38 percent of the offering, 35 percent heifers with 27 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 21 percent.
