Supply light to moderate, mostly 400-700 lbs calves, near 37 percent steers and bulls, 30 percent heifers, 30 percent cows, 3 percent slaughter steers and heifers and 7 percent feeders over 600 lbs. Slaughter cows $1-5 lower most decline on boners and breakers.

   Compared to last week, 700 lbs steers sold $4 higher, the rest of the offering sold steady to $3 lower with good quality in the offering. Slaughter cows sold $1 lower and bulls sold $6 lower; Demand uneven and supply moderate. Cows made up approximately 8 percent of the run, 92 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 62 percent of the offering, 30 percent heifers with  8 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 53 percent.

   Somber was the word one buyer used to describe the atmosphere today. The 400-500 lbs males and heifers were steady to $12 higher the rest were $7-15 or more lower where there was enough to test the market.
