Antique Farmalls Have Won Taylor's Heart

This photo is of Plow Day put on by the River Hills Antique Tractor Club.
It was in the bottoms in December of 2015.

When I was a young boy, I worked for my Uncle Mac Manche, who owned a 1952 WD-9 Super M and Super H Farmalls. My dream was to someday own my own.
I found a Farmall WD-9 in Lincoln, Nebraska. After purchasing, the first thing needed was new tires. I wanted to use this tractor for plow days. It’s a 4-plow tractor about 52 hp, but I pull 3 plows instead, due to tough bottom grounds. I travel to as many as I can within a 200-mile radius.
I have plowed in Republic, Mo., which is near Springfield, Mo. People ask me how come I travel so far to the plow days and I tell them I just love to plow! I am always at the River Hills Antique Tractor Club’s Plow Day in November or December. I have also taken my tractor and plow to Nashville, Ill. and Gorman, Ill. to plow.
The plow I use is an IHC Little Genius Model #8. It has 3 plows, 14”. It also has a coulter and is a rope trip type, which lowers and raises the plow.
I also have two Super M TA’s, an 806 and a Cub IHC. Hopefully, my next tractor will be a 1953 Super H.
Bill Taylor and his wife are from Perryville, Mo. They have just returned from the Florida Flywheelers Show held this past February. ∆
