   Friday’s sale was a bred cow special with a light offering of feeder cattle selling mostly in small packages, odds and singles sold with a lower undertone on a very light test. Slaughter cows sold steady to $2 lower. Cattle futures remain on the volatile side this week with lower fat cattle in the works has put pressure on the feeder cattle market. Replacement cows and slaughter cows accounted for near 60 percent of the total receipts. The feeder supply was 61 percent steers and bulls, 39 percent heifers and 34 percent over 600 lbs.

   Compared to two weeks ago, the offering over 500 lbs sold $1-6 higher, the rest of the offering sold $2-8 lower. Slaughter cows sold $2 lower and few bulls sold steady; Demand uneven and supply light. Cows made up approximately 18 percent of the run, 82 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 26 percent of the offering, 48 percent heifers with 25 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 30 percent.

   Compared to two weeks ago, steers and heifers sold steady to $7 lower. Slaughter cows sold $3 lower, bulls sold steady; Demand lower and supply light. Cows made up approximately 25 percent of the run, 75 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 43 percent of the offering, 44 percent heifers with 14 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 35 percent.
