   Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold $1-8 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls sold $1 lower; Demand good and supply light. Cows made up approximately 12 percent of the run, 88 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 28 percent of the offering, 35 percent heifers with 37 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 22 percent.

   Compared to last week, 600 lbs steers and 500 lbs heifers sold $2 lower, the rest of the offering sold $2-6 higher. Slaughter cows sold $2 lower and bulls sold steady; Demand moderate and supply moderate. Cows made up approximately 18 percent of the run, 82 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 56 percent of the offering, 29 percent heifers with 15 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 33 percent.

   Compared to the last special two weeks ago, steer calves sold mostly $7-12 higher with 700-750 lb yearling steers trading $12-15 higher; Heifer calves under 600 lbs sold mostly $10-15 higher with instances $20 higher and heifers over 600 lbs trading with a higher undertone on a light test. Demand was much improved as fed cattle traded mostly $5 higher this week at $105 and cattle futures for the week traded mostly higher giving support to the market. Overall quality was very attractive on steer and heifer calves as they sold with good demand with many packages and lots weaned. Slaughter cows sold fully steady with last week. Slaughter cows accounted for 12 percent of the total receipts with slaughter cattle accounting for near 10 percent. Feeder supply consisted of 60 percent steers, 40 percent heifers and 33 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
