Friday's auction was a Bred Cow Special, with a very light test of feeder cattle selling in small, odd packages and singles trading with weak to lower undertone. Demand was moderate with a light supply. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm. Slaughter and bred cows accounted for near 45 percent of the total receipts. Feeder supply consisted of 56 percent steers and bulls, 44 percent heifers and near 48 percent weighing over 600 lbs.

Compared to last week, 250-400 lbs steers and heifers sold $3.00-10.00 higher,the rest of the offering sold steady to $3.00 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady; Demand good and supply light. Cows made up approximately 10 percent of the run, 90 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 36 percent of the offering, 47 percent heifers with 17 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 18 percent.
