2017 Mississippi Soybean Yield Contest

STONEVILLE, MISS.
   As we go through soybean planting keep in mind that starting in 2017 the Mississippi Soybean Association in partnership with the Mississippi Soybean Promotion Board will be sponsoring the 1st annual Mississippi Soybean Yield Contest.
   The 2017 Mississippi Soybean Yield Contest will be divided into four divisions:
   • Maximum Yield: Irrigated
   • Maximum Yield: Dryland
   • Maximum Economic Yield: Irrigated
   • Maximum Economic Yield: Dryland
   1st place in each division will receive $4,000, while 2nd place will receive $1,000.
The contest will be administered by Mississippi State University Extension. Yield Contest Officials (YCO) will be your county Extension Agent or a Mississippi State University Extension Specialist/Agronomist.
   Entry forms must be received by August 1st, and the location of the contest field must be submitted to your YCO at least 7 days before harvest.  The contest harvest area must be contiguous, have 4 straight sides (square or rectangle) and be between 5-7 acres.
