LSU AgCenter Northeast Research Station Field Day Set For June 20

ST. JOSEPH, LA.
   The LSU AgCenter Northeast Research Station will showcase research and demonstration plots at a pest management and crop production field day on June 20 in St. Joseph.
   Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. with coffee and doughnuts. Field tours will run from 9-11 a.m. followed by crop and administrative updates and a sponsored lunch.
   The field tours will depart from behind the main office building. The Northeast Research Station is located on Hwy 605 north of St. Joseph.
   A broad range of topics will be covered, including:
   • Row rice production.
   • Cover crop management.
   • Current topics in field crop pathology.
   • Precision planting.
   • Cotton pest management and field crop insect update.
   • New herbicide technologies.
   • Crop irrigation and water policy and programs.
   The field day is approved for Phase II and continuing education credits for the Louisiana Master Farmer program. ∆
