Eastern Missouri Livestock Auction

   Compared to the last special two weeks ago, steer and heifer calves under 600 lbs sold steady to firm, with yearling steers and heifers over 650 lbs traded with a steady undertone on a light test of comparable weights. Demand was moderate to good with supply moderate. Slaughter cows on a light offering of mostly average dressing cows sold steady to weak. There was a nice offering of yearling cattle weighing 650-950 lbs with seven pot loads and several part loads in the offering all selling with good demand. Feeders continue to hold their value as cattle futures and fed cattle market have traded higher. Slaughter cows accounted for near 7 percent of the total receipts.  Feeder supply consisted of 62 percent steers, 38 percent heifers and near 65 percent weighing over 600 lbs.

Cows made up approximately 12 percent of the run, 88 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 33 percent of the offering, 43 percent heifers with 25 percent feeder bulls.  Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 24 percent.

Cows made up approximately 15 percent of the run, 85 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 48 percent of the offering, 40 percent heifers with 10 feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 26 percent.
