Event For Small-Acreage Owners Set For Dec. 2 In Hillsboro

HILLSBORO, MO.
   Small-acreage owners and land entrepreneurs will learn practical tips on how to make more money and improve their operations at a Dec. 2 conference in Hillsboro.
   University of Missouri Extension and Lincoln University team up for the one-day event at Jefferson College.
   Attendees will learn to grow and market better grass, cover crops, tomatoes and pumpkins. They can attend sessions on beekeeping, raising goats and pesticides. They will also learn how to apply for grants and plan their estates. Other topics include social media, customer service, record keeping and hiring employees.
   The event begins at 8:45 a.m. and ends by 4 p.m. Registration is $45 per person before Nov. 22 and $50 per person thereafter. High school and college students may register for $20 per person before Nov. 22 and $25 thereafter. Registration includes lunch. Deadline is Nov. 27.
