   Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold uneven, from $4.00 lower to $4.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold $2.00 lower and bulls sold steady. Supply light. Cows made up approximately 11 percent of the run, 89 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 31 percent of the offering, 42 percent heifers with 27 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 16 percent.

Cows made up approximately 16 percent of the run, 84 percent feeders.  Steers made up approximately 41 percent of the offering, 45 percent heifers with 14 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 32 percent.

   Compared to last week, a light offering of feeder cattle traded mostly steady on comparable weights and quality. Feeders sold in small groups and packages with many unweaned and short weaned selling off a large offering of slaughter cows sold earlier. Slaughter cows on a large offering sold mixed with high dressing cows trading steady and average dressing selling steady to $2.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good with supply moderate. Cattle on Feed report was released Friday afternoon with Placements at 101 percent, Marketings at 101 percent and on feed at 104 percent all within expectations. July Cattle Inventory report was also released with all cattle and calves totaling 103 million head, up 1 percent from year ago and calf crop estimated at 36.5 million head up 2 percent from a year ago.  Slaughter cows accounted for 32 percent of the total receipts, slaughter steers and heifers accounted for 16 percent, replacement cows 10 percent and feeders 42 percent. Feeder supply consisted of 51 percent steers and bulls, 49 percent heifers and 31 percent over 600 lbs.
