Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady; Demand good and supply heavy.  Cows made up approximately 15 percent of the run, 85 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 39 percent of the offering, 44 percent heifers with 17 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 19 percent.

Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 22 percent.

   Compared to two weeks ago, a light test of 450-500 lb steer calves sold mostly $5.00-7.00 lower, with 500-600 lb weaned steer calves trading mostly steady and weights over 600 lbs not well tested on comparable weights. Feeder heifers weighing 400-500 lbs and 600-650 lb sold mostly steady with 500-600 lbs trading $2.00-5.00 lower on comparable sales. Slaughter cows sold steady to $2.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good on weaned calves and big yearling steers with supply moderate. There were many small lots and packages of unweaned, fleshy and average quality feeders with many non-pre-conditioned calves selling with light demand. Slaughter cows accounted for near 18 percent of the total receipts. Feeder cattle consisted of 52 percent steers, 7 percent bulls, 41 percent heifers and 44 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
