Supply moderate on a feeder special, mostly 450-850 lbs offerings, near 42 percent steers and bulls, 46 percent heifers, 12 percent cows and 36 percent feeders over 600 lbs. Slaughter cows compared to last week sale steady to $2 lower.

    Compared to last week, 500-700 lbs steers and a few 700 lb heifers sold $2-8 higher, the rest of the offering sold steady to $6 lower. Slaughter cows sold $3 lower and bulls sold $1 lower; Demand uneven and supply moderate. Cows made up approximately 13 percent of the run, 87 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 47 percent of the offering, 41 percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 34 percent.

    Compared to last week steers and heifers, heifers showed steady to in some instances $5-8 higher. Compared to last week where nice groups of preconditioned, weaned, steers were sold this week mostly fleshy, bawling, unweaned. Bull calves were markedly lower. We are coming into the season of the year when we have warm days and cool nights and cattle get sick. This will be reflected in the market on these type cattle – bawling, unweaned, unvaccinated. Slaughter bulls and cows sold steady.
