Compared to last week, a very light offering of feeder cattle this week had very few comparisons with last week's special, mostly new crop fleshy calves or unweaned calves selling in small groups and singles. Slaughter cows on a very good offering sold firm to $2.00 higher with a nice offering of slaughter cattle trading steady to firm with last week's sale. Fed cattle trade this week was mostly steady to $2.00 lower from $118.00-120.00 with Choice boxed-beef closing Friday at $296.50 up 2.74 and Select 3.26 higher closing at $283.05. Grains had a good week of trading specially May corn closing the week near 85 cents higher at $7.40. Supply included: 56 percent Feeder Cattle (45 percent Steers, 48 percent Heifers, 8 percent Bulls); 44 percent Slaughter Cattle (23 percent Steers, 18 percent Heifers, 52 percent Cows, 7 percent Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 31 percent.
