   Market had a slightly lower undertone due to a mixed quality offering in yesterday’s sale. Weigh cows and bulls sold with strong demand and were $2/cwt higher.

   Compared to the last feeder special from two weeks ago, feeder steers under 700 lbs traded $2.00-5.00 higher with not enough over 700 lbsfor a good market test. Feeder heifers under 700 lbs mostly steady with 700-800 lb heifers firm to $5.00 higher. Slaughter cows were $1.00-3.00 higher compared to last week and slaughter steers and heifers steady to $1.00 higher. Several part load lots of yearling heifers wereoffered along with some nice strings of 500-650 lb steer calves. Rain continues to slow field work with farmers not able to finish corn an soybean planting or start with the hay harvest. Supply included: 84 percent Feeder Cattle (40 percent Steers, 59 percent Heifers, 1 percent Bulls); 16 percent Slaughter Cattle (20 percent Steers, 15 percent Heifers, 59 percent Cows, 5 percent Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 52 percent.
