Compared to the last special two weeks ago, steers calves under 600 lbs and yearling steers over 800 lbs were lightly tested this week with few good comparisons, 6 weights steers sold steady to firm. Feeder heifers weighing 500-650 lbs sold steady with a near pot load weighing 708 lbs trading $3.00 lower. Slaughter cows traded firm to $3.00 higher. Demand and supply was moderate with two pot loads of big yearling steers weighing near 1100 lbs trading with moderate to good demand. Supply included: 84 percent Feeder Cattle (62 percent Steers, 37 percent Heifers, 1 percent Bulls); 16 percent Slaughter Cattle (4 percent Steers, 16 percent Dairy Steers, 13 percent Heifers, 61 percent Cows, 6 percent Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 74 percent.
