LSU AgCenter Northeast Research Station Plans Two Field Days For July

ST. JOSEPH, LA.

The LSU AgCenter Northeast Research Station is planning two field days for July: one about row rice production on July 15, and another focused on cotton, corn and soybeans on July 27.

Both events will be held at the station, 4589 Louisiana Highway 605 in St. Joseph, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

At the rice workshop, AgCenter experts will give presentations on nitrogen fertility, billbugs, varieties, seeding rates, nematodes, fertigation, disease and weed control, and best management practices.

The cotton, corn and soybean event will provide information on growing those crops on 60- and 30-inch rows – a practice that is gaining interest among farmers and is being studying at the station.

For more information, contact station coordinator Dennis Burns at DBurns@agcenter.lsu.edu or 318-766-2769. ∆
