Compared to last week, with the exception of two pot loads of big yearling steers weighing over 1000 lbs offering was mostly made up of small packages and singles with lots of plain quality feeders as overall quality was not very attractive or weighing conditions, but overall a lower undertone. Slaughter cows and slaughter steers and heifers had a large offering with both trading fully steady to firm on and active market. The huge swing higher in the corn and grain markets along with the big increase in oil have impacted the CME cattle futures as they have traded sharply lower with the nearby months for Feeder Cattle losing near 7.00 to 7.50 for the week. Supply included:  68% Feeder Cattle (60% Steers, 33% Heifers, 7% Bulls); 32% Slaughter Cattle (24% Steers, 13% Heifers, 52% Cows, 11% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 48%.
