Eastern Missouri Livestock Auction

MARCH 11, 2022 • Bowling Green, Mo.

Receipts: 3147; Last Week: 1326; Year Ago: 1769

Eastern Mo. Commission Co. had a large offering of calves and yearlings as producers had held off the last several weeks due to weather conditions with recent auctions having too few feeders for a good comparison, with the last auction with similar comparisons was 4 weeks ago with 500-750 lb steers trading mostly steady to firm.  Heifers weighing 500-700 lbs sold with a slightly lower undertone. Quality was very good especially on the steers weighing 500-750 lbs and heifers weighing 500-650 lbs all sold on a very active market despite a much higher grain market over the last several weeks. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm. Supply included: 92% Feeder Cattle (54% Steers, 45% Heifers, 0% Bulls); 8% Slaughter Cattle (19% Steers, 7% Heifers, 66% Cows, 7% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 56%.
